Andy Manley is a theatre artist based in the UK.
In 1991 he was a founding member of Visible Fictions Theatre Company whose first show Bill’s New Frock toured Canada and the US on three successive tours. He is an Associate Artist of Catherine Wheels Theatre Company and a co-creator of the production Martha which has toured to Canada, US, Holland, China, Singapore, Tasmania, Norway, Sweden and taken in Broadway.
In October 2006 he worked as a Drama Artist for Starcatchers at North Edinburgh Arts Centre. During this time he developed work for the very young, creating the highly successful Little Light and also his solo show My House. My House has been performed throughout the UK. It has also been performed in Italy, Spain, Austria, Finland, Germany, France, Belgium, Lichtenstein and on Broadway as part of the Scottish Children's Festival at the New Victory Theater, New York.
In 2007/8 he worked with Rob Evans and Catherine Wheels on the Going Solo project in which he developed and performed two new one man plays. Kappa a classroom show for 10-12 year olds, and The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk which performed to 9-12 year olds. Andy performed both shows at the Imaginate Children's Festival and Pondlife McGurk at the Sydney Opera House in November 2011.
In 2009 he collaborated with Shona Reppe on Potato Needs a Bath, a new show for 2-4 year olds. Potato Needs a Bath performed at the New Victory Theater, New York in April 2011 and then at the Imaginate Children's Festival.
In 2010 he again collaborated with Shona Reppe, Catherine Wheels and Ian Cameron on White a new show for 2-4 year olds. White opened at the Edinburgh Fringe where it was awarded a Scotsman Fringe First and a Total Theatre Award. Andy was also awarded a Herald Angel for the show.
He has also worked as an actor on numerous productions for children and young people including two productions created by Mark Storor - Best Behaviour (Polka Theatre, London 2003) and For the Best (Unicorn Theatre 2009)
His directing credits include work for Catherine Wheels, Scottish Opera, Macrobert Arts Centre, M6 Theatre Company, Polka Theatre and Shona Reppe Puppets.
